About Chelsea

A Woman of Many Loves: Computers, Animals, Art, Food and Culture

Chelsea was born in Palm Springs, California in the late 80's- the middle child of three children.

As a child of an artist turn computer programmer and mechanic / equipment repair technician- Chelsea grew up with access to computers and the internet at an early age along with her mother's paint box and actively experimented with everything therein:  calligraphic pens & inks, charcoals, conte' crayons, pencils, oil, acrylic and water paints- and an assortments of brushes.

In addition, access to public programs such as: ceramics, sewing, jewelry making, origami, ballet, karate, competitive swimming, gardening, cooking, and too many hobbies to list.

And in the early 90's she was given a desktop computer! She learned how to piece together designs using an entire set of 3" thick Corel Draw book & CD at her mom's home Tee Shirt Studio, and was allowed access to a full-version of Macromedia's Studio MX, (at the time the "leading professional tools for developing the full range of websites and internet applications") which kicked off a career in graphic design and helped her secure a scholarship from the La Quinta Arts Foundation that she used to go to Missouri State University (formerly SMSU.)

Chelsea volunteers at a nonprofit parrot Sanctuary called The Landing Zone Parrot Sanctuary in Thousand Palms, CA. Where she entertains relinquished parrots and volunteers time and expertise making templates and daily videos for their social media pages featuring the sanctuary animals and maintaining their website.

She is proud of her monetary donation history and of Volunteering- including locally at the Desert Regional Medical Center visiting the sick with a magazine cart, greeting visitors at the front desk, and maintaining the gift shop- and at various events in the desert area. She was also a Girl Scout Brownie and still has her ornate badge vest and sash.

During the pandemic, Chelsea picked up hobby gardening for seed saving, sewing (3-layer masks- when N95's were not yet available), collecting antique kimono silks, making ceramics and now dabbling in Ukranian Easter egg.

Chelsea is now expecting her first child and is a stay-at-home 'housewife' who works remotely.
